What buyers should receive
A puppy buyer packet should explain the puppy's identity, date of birth, parent information, feeding routine, veterinary care, and contact information for follow-up questions.
Health documents
Include available veterinary examination records, vaccinations, parasite-control treatments, microchip details, and any disclosed health concerns. Never claim that a puppy is guaranteed free of every future illness.
Daily care guide
Provide the current food and feeding routine, transition guidance, safe socialization tips, grooming needs, and an age-appropriate training plan. Encourage buyers to schedule their own veterinary visit promptly.
Contracts and support
Use a clear written agreement addressing responsibilities, health disclosures, any return or rehoming provisions, and contact arrangements. Check local legal requirements and avoid promises you cannot fulfill.
Next steps
Discuss your individual dogs with a licensed veterinarian, save relevant test results, and explore additional lessons in the Dog Breeders Academy.
