20/40/OXYTOCIN (10 VIALS x 2M)
Oxytocin 10 IU injection is used in dogs mainly for stimulating uterine contractions during whelping and for milk let-down. The dosage depends on the dog’s size, condition, and the purpose of use.
Here’s the typical veterinary guidance:
Indications in dogs
To aid in uterine contractions if labor has stalled (dystocia due to weak contractions, not due to obstruction)
To help expel retained placentas
To stimulate milk let-down for lactating females
Dosage (for 10 IU/mL solution)
Uterine contraction (whelping support): 2–5 IU per dog, intramuscularly (IM) or subcutaneously (SC).
Milk let-down: 2–5 IU per dog, IM or SC.
Repeat dosing: May be repeated every 30 minutes to 1 hour if necessary, but usually no m
ore than 2–3 doses.
