Ovulation Shots (White Powder) are always given by injection — never orally.
Administration depends on the animal, but here’s the breakdown for dogs:
---
1. Route
Intramuscular (IM) injection is the most common.
Subcutaneous (SC) injection can also be used in some protocols.
Intravenous (IV) is not recommended for this product.
---
2. Purpose in Dogs
Inducing estrus (heat) in females
Triggering ovulation when progesterone levels indicate readiness
Synchronizing estrus cycles in a group of females
Treating infertility related to ovarian inactivity or cysts
---
3. Preparation
Comes as a solution in ampoules (25 µg or 100 µg strength).
Use a sterile syringe and needle (commonly 23–25 gauge for dogs).
Inject into the thigh muscle (IM) or loose skin over the shoulder (SC).
Dispose of the ampoule after one use — do not reuse.
---
4. General Veterinary Dosages (for guidance only)
Small dogs (5–10 kg / 11–22 lbs): 25–50 µg IM/SC
Medium dogs (10–25 kg / 22–55 lbs): 50–75 µg IM/S
Large dogs (25–50 kg / 55–110 lbs): 75–100 µg IM/SC
Important: Timing is critical. Usually, this hormone is given once progesterone testing shows the female is near ovulation. Too early or too late reduces effectiveness.
